When we first step into the job market or even when we are changing jobs the first question that comes to our mind is “How do I get a “secure” job? “ When we start looking for a job our first goal is to research and shortlist the companies that are most likely going to hire personnel with the skill set that we have. Then we must gather as much information that we can about the company so that when we go for an interview we are well versed with the needs and policies of the company.
Once we have been hired we have to go about making ourselves indispensible. We must be noticeable and not merge into the crowd. Our goal is to be a team player and make decisions based on what is good for the company. While working we must develop our knowledge base by taking training and development opportunities whenever possible. Getting and retaining a “secure” job is possible by consistently giving a good performance and having a positive attitude.
